Pillar 1 | Evidence-based programs and services
The Center of Excellence for Immigrant Child Health and Wellbeing coordinates with UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals and associated clinics to provide support and direct services for the care of children in immigrant families:
- Model programs which offer primary care to immigrant, refugee and newcomer children at the International Program in Oakland, Castlemont High School Teen Program in Oakland, and Bridges in San Francisco.
- Civil surgeon services for immigrants seeking immigration visas or permanent resident status in the U.S.
- Forensic exams at no cost for local children seeking asylum, and referrals to those children for follow-up medical care as needed.
