Vision

We envision a community where immigrant children and families are upheld in their human right to live with dignity in respectful, healthy, and thriving environments.

Mission

To strengthen healthcare systems through leadership, guidance, and collaboration that promote prevention, access, and holistic wellbeing for immigrant children and their families.

Values

Cultural humility, social justice, trauma-informed, strength-based, family-centered, collaboration, and partnership.

At UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, we are committed to supporting the health and development of all children. As such, we dedicate ourselves to understanding the broad range of childhood experiences and how those experiences influence a child’s medical and mental health. Our Center of Excellence for Immigrant Child Health and Wellbeing is key to our mission and our purpose. The team of experts is working to build knowledge and resources grounded in a deep understanding of the array of strengths and obstacles presented to children who experience immigration to ensure their every opportunity for the best health and development.
