Community Collaboration and Resources

Pillar 3 | Community Collaboration

Partnership, Shared Learning, and Community-Centered Leadership

The Center of Excellence for Immigrant Child Health and Wellbeing advances immigrant child and family health through community collaboration, shared expertise, and relationship-centered engagement. The Center strives to be a trusted institutional and community resource, strengthening connections across UCSF and with community-based organizations.

Community Building: Fostering relationships within UCSF and across community partners through convenings, collaborative activities, and shared learning spaces that uplift the strengths, contributions, and lived experiences of immigrant communities.

Awareness and Health Literacy: Supporting education and awareness efforts that equip families, clinicians, and community partners with accessible, accurate information related to immigrant child health, health system navigation, and preventive care.

Tailored Social Needs Navigation: Bridging clinical care and community resources by helping immigrant children and families access social, legal, and community-based supports aligned with their needs, priorities, and cultural contexts.

Collaborative Expertise: Offering support and technical assistance to clinical teams, departments, trainees, and community organizations to strengthen programs, practices, and initiatives serving immigrant families.

Through Community Collaboration, the Center provides leadership grounded in trust, partnership, and shared responsibility—connecting people, knowledge, and resources to support immigrant children’s health and wellbeing across clinical and community settings.
