Mission
At UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals, we uphold the highest level of healthcare by providing appropriate language access to our culturally and linguistically diverse patient population. By ensuring every family’s right to understand medical information, we stand by our patients—and their support networks—as they experience better health outcomes and a more positive hospital experience.
UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals provides trained medical interpreters to our limited English proficient (LEP) and deaf or hard of hearing patients, and their families, free of charge.
Interpreters are available 24 hours a day.
Our Medical Interpreters
- Provide professional and accurate interpretation between the patient/family and our providers.
- Enhance and advocate cultural awareness for our patient population and our providers.
- Bridge communication gaps between our providers and LEP patients.
