Aura Aparicio is the daughter of Guatemalan immigrants, born and raised in San Francisco. Aura has over 25 years of experience working with non-profit organizations on issues of social justice, education and health. Before coming to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital she was Executive Director of Hospital de la Familia Foundation which provides healthcare and education to communities living in poverty in Guatemala. Prior to this she was at Good Samaritan Family Resource Center in San Francisco as Manager of Programs for recently arrived Latinx immigrant families. She earned her BA and MA from San Francisco State University in Ethnic Studies focusing on Latinx immigrants and Latin American studies.
